The Remote Dog Collar: Discipline At A Distance
Training your dog is an important part of its adapting process. You want your dog to be a trusted and loved friend, but at the same time, you don’t want it to cause problems for the people around you. You might remember a time where you wanted to work, study, or sleep, but you couldn’t because a neighbor’s dog kept barking. If this has happened to you, I bet you don’t want to put someone else in such a situation either.
There are different ideas that you can try in order to train your dog and let them know when it is okay to bark and when it is not. The remote dog collar is one product that has shown results on all types of dogs.
The Principle
The remote dog collar is quite different from all the other training dog collars out there such as the electric dog collar or citronella dog collar. The biggest difference is that you control the collar yourself. This is much more hands on training than say the electric collars or citronella collars which the dog just wears and they work all on their own.
In order to use the remote dog collar properly you will need to be there with your dog while they are wearing it. You start by teaching your dog one trick at a time, and add more complex tricks after the dog has learned the first one, and only use the collar if the dog disobeys an order. If you use the hand held remote transmitter you should be holding in your hands, it is going to send an electrical stimulation to your dog via a set of probes sticking out from the dog collar.
When you strap the collar onto your dog’s neck you will see that there are two probes coming out of the collar, which must come into direct contact with the dog’s skin in order to work
If you are worried about the remote dog training collar harming your dog, don’t. Static electricity doesn’t hurt animals or people, but it scares or confuses your dog enough to pay attention to your command and the situation of the moment. Many people say that the collar is inhumane, but if you’re brave enough to try it on yourself (most people aren’t) you won’t know exactly what it feels like. If you decide that the collar is painful, then just get another type of collar.
